ABC CONFERENCE CHANT GUIDELINES

It is a tradition that each campus prepares a CREATIVE chant to represent their campus during roll call and participate in random outbursts of Black pride and competition. This year, campuses should create a chant centered around this year’s theme: The Power to Imagine, The Strength to Build Black Power.

Chants Should:

  • Be Between 60-90 Seconds.

  • Be Appropriate (NO PROFANITY) Any chant containing profanity will be cut short and automatically disqualified from the competition.

  • Be Creative

  • Be performed as a collective group, with everyone participating in the chant together rather than reciting individual lines.

  • Not include backflips or any other potentially harmful maneuvers.

Need Ideas?

  • Add your own spin to notable cultural cheers and/or existing chants

  • Remix a popular song to reflect your BSU pride

Challenge

  • Try to incorporate a Black revolutionary into your chant in any capacity

  • Try to incorporate this year's theme into your chant
